Description: Archaeological Field Director
This position
will be part of our Natural and Cultural Resources Group- Archaeology Team.
The entire work group is comprised of archaeology, wetland delineation,
environmental and ecological assessment, threatened and endangered species,
and mapping. This position will manage field crews and will require the
incumbent to be onsite in the field throughout the completion of fieldwork.
The Field Director will be required to supervise and participate in all
aspects of the archaeological excavation and investigations. Digging,
lifting objects weighing more than 50 lbs, and walking long distances will
be required. The Field Director will be responsible for meeting project
budgets and deadlines, cooperating in a team environment with all the
disciplines represented in our company. The incumbent will work under the
supervision and direction of the Cultural Resources Director, providing
daily updates to the CRD, client, and other Sphere 3 executive staff (if
required).
Applicants need
to be willing to relocate to the area as lodging and per diem will not be
offered for local projects. This position will require an appointment for
an interview in Longview, Texas. A mandatory drug screening test will be
given as a pre-condition of employment in addition to random drug screening
throughout the duration of employment.
Qualifications:
MA in Archaeology / Anthropology;
3 years of CRM experience, with at least 1 year in a
field supervisory position;
Archaeological fieldwork experience in Texas and/or
Louisiana; Field experience on archaeological
corridor surveys (i.e., pipelines, highways, or other utility lines), or
other related and comparable fieldwork;
Experience or familiarity with
navigating, or recording data points on project features with GPS/Trimble
units in the field; Familiarity with Section 106, NEPA, and other
state and federal regulations;
Ability
to obtain a Texas Antiquities Permit (within 6 months of employment)
Ability to schedule and complete
archaeological field projects in a timely manner and within budget; Ability
to supervise field technicians during the course of archaeological
fieldwork;
Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office software
(Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.); Ability and willingness to adapt to a
constantly changing work schedule; Ability to work as a team member
under the direct supervision of the Cultural Resources Director (CRD) in a
rapidly growing environmental firm;
Flexibility and willingness to work in
locations outside of Texas for up to several weeks; Ability to write
professional quality archaeological project reports (Examples of writing
will be requested)
Ability to
perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a
Drug-free workplace (a mandatory drug screening must be passed as
prerequisite for employment).

Job Description:
Archaeological Technician
Sphere 3
Environmental, Inc. seeks to hire temporary Archaeological Technicians for
summer fieldwork (May through August) involving cultural resources
investigations in the Sam Houston National Forest near New Waverly, Texas.
This position will consist of excavating shovel tests and completing field
data forms in remote areas. Fieldwork will be conducted 40-hours a week
(Monday through Friday) at $13.25 per hour. Technicians will be responsible
for transportation to/from the project area. Field transportation and
lodging will be provided near the project area. Meals will be reimbursed up
to $30.00 per day.
Qualifications:
This position
requires experience in Texas or the Southeastern United States, field school
training, one year of field experience, anthropology coursework, and a
Bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology or closely related field.
Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks in extreme
temperatures including heavy lifting (50lbs or more), walking, bending, and
digging. Additional responsibilities will include field mapping utilizing a
global positioning system. A mandatory pre-employment drug screen test will
be given and must be passed as a condition of employment in addition to

Job Description:
Wetland Scientist
Conduct wetland delineations and permitting. Will be responsible for
conducting field evaluations of proposed construction areas using U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers criteria. Coordinate with a variety of clients
concerning wetland impacts and avoidance. Will prepare scientific reports
and permit applications. Coordinate with state and federal agencies
concerning proposed actions. Utilize GPS to map in project features. Must
be able and willing to travel. Must be able to work closely with other
scientists and interact in a team atmosphere.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or related field. Minimum 2 years experience
conducting wetland identification and delineation surveys. Familiar with
mitigation methods and requirements in Texas and Louisiana. Must have a
working knowledge of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and a clear
understanding of the USACE 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual and its regional
amendments. Experience working with state and federal agencies throughout
the permitting process. Must be able to write clear, concise reports.

Job Description: Air
Permitting Specialist
Provide support to Client’s in developing, executing, and maintaining site
compliance with permits and air regulatory requirements. Provide support for
developing permit applications (Title V and NSR), amendments (Title V and
NSR) and PBRs. Track key compliance metrics and implement systems to improve
performance. Creation and maintenance of environmental management systems to
comply with air permits and air regulations. Responsible for air compliance
reporting such as MACT and Subpart MMMM reports. Serve as a point of contact
and provide technical support for air compliance questions for clients.
Assist with client annual Emission Inventory, TRI Report, and Title V
Deviations Reporting. Maintain client release reporting and recordkeeping as
required by environmental regulations and environmental air permits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science. Minimum 3 to 5 years
of oil & gas air permitting or regulatory experience. Experience in managing
compliance for air sources, including documenting regulatory applicability
determinations, verifying process streams, understanding mitigation and
controls devices, performing emissions monitoring, and calculating air
emissions at various oil & gas process and storage facilities. Knowledge of
all aspects of NSR, PBR, and other Texas air permit authorizations
preferred. Knowledge of federal and state laws governing air compliance
programs. Experience with reports to various state and federal agencies
